Draft Of A Resolution In Support Of The Jerusalem

RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE JERUSALEM PROJECT

STRONGLY SUPPORTING THE EFFORTS OF THE JERUSALEM PROJECT AND EXTENDING EXPRESSIONS OF HOPE FOR A CONTINUUM OF PEACEFUL INTERACTION, CO-OPERATION AND DIALOGUE BETWEEN THE PEOPLES AND NATIONS OF THE MIDDLE EAST.

WHEREAS, following the conclusion of the Second World War, and the Holocaust, the General Assembly of the United Nations passed Resolution 181, which attempted to resolve the Arab-Israeli conflict in the British mandate of Palestine by partitioning the territory of Palestine into two states, one Jewish and one Arab; and

WHEREAS, based on Resolution 181, the land allocated to the proposed Arab state consisted of all of the highlands, except for Jerusalem, plus one third of the coastline, amounting to forty-three percent of Mandatory Palestine; and

WHEREAS, the land allotted to the proposed Jewish state consisted of the lowland plains, amounting to fifty-six percent of Mandatory Palestine; and

WHEREAS, the greater Jerusalem area, under the provisions of Resolution 181, was to be under international control; and

WHEREAS, the Jewish Agency, as well as the majority of Jewish organisations and individuals accepted the UN proposal, but regional Arab leadership strongly opposed the plan due to concerns about Jewish self-determination, quantity and quality of land given to the Jews in the proposed plan; and

WHEREAS, shortly after the ratification of Resolution 181, the Arab Higher Committee declared a three-day strike and public protest to begin on December 2, 1947 in protest of the Resolution, resulting in what became known as the Jerusalem Riots, in which for three days, Arabs attacked the commercial center of Jerusalem, burning numerous buildings and shops; and

WHEREAS, the riots of Jerusalem soon evolved into widespread fighting between local, indigenous Arabs and Jews, and;

WHEREAS, the State of Israel was proclaimed on May 14, 1948, and;

WHEREAS, immediately following the State of Israel's establishment, Israel's Arab neighbours - Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon - simultaneously declared war on Israel and launched an all out, omnidirectional attack on the Jewish State, in what has now become known by historians as the 1948 War of Independence; and

WHEREAS, Israel successfully repulsed the invading armies, and the Palestinian Arabs who rose up against Israel were internally displaced, creating a massive refugee crisis; and

WHEREAS, decades of war, conflict, insurgency, and strained diplomatic relations have existed between the State of Israel and her neighbouring states since the War of Independence; and

WHEREAS, the ongoing Arab-Israeli conflict and the international War on Terrorism have discouraged tourism and travel to the Holy Land; and

WHEREAS, many people from many nations would like to safely and pleasantly visit the actual places where Jesus and Mohammad walked in the footsteps of Abraham; and

WHEREAS, the Judeo-Christian-Islamic (J-C-I) tradition is united in its belief that The Creator of the Earth and everything in it made a Covenant with Abraham; and

WHEREAS, the second Jewish Temple, built to honor The Creator, has been in ruins for almost two thousand years; and

WHEREAS, the prophetic tradition is that when The Creator's House is built, Jesus will return; and

WHEREAS, the mission of The Jerusalem Project, which is more fully explained at http://www.thejerusalemproject.com, is to build The Creator's House, according to prophecy; and

WHEREAS, The Creator's House will be a place where people of goodwill can gather together from all the nations in the spirit of forgiveness and aloha; and

WHEREAS, the creation of ‘The Jerusalem Jurisdiction' by the United Nations will permit the archaeology to finally be done on one of the most important sites in human history; and

WHEREAS, when the archaeology is done, the Ark of the Covenant will be found, where it has been all along; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by _______________________________________, that __________________________ strongly supports the efforts of The Jerusalem Project to facilitate unity and forgiveness among all the peoples of all the nations through efforts such as the creation of The Jerusalem Jurisdiction and the construction of The Creator's House.

END OF RESOLUTION

Please feel free to improve the language to support The Jerusalem Project.

You will find that the exercise of introducing a Resolution in support of The Jerusalem Project and working for its passage by your local government will enrich your life in ways that may surprise you, even in ways that may be considered small miracles. Your Light will Shine a little brighter, whether you succeed the first time or not.

The following will help you answer concerns about the separation of church and state:

The separation of church and state is about the separation of power between the religious and the secular. It is about prohibiting the state from endorsing or requiring any one particular religious belief.

It does not mean that we should dishonor the Ten Commandments or that the United States of America should change the motto on its currency from "IN GOD WE TRUST" to:
"TRUST US"
